Ful Medames is a zesty, warm and incredibly flavorful breakfast recipe that’s filling and highly nutritious. Ful is made out of Fava Beans, olive oil and some lemon-y goodness..all of which you need in your diet. It’s a simple and quick breakfast recipe, done in less than 30 minutes.

The main ingredient in Ful Medames is Fava beans. Ingredients to make Ful Medames-Healthy Fava Beans Breakfast

1 can (14 ounces) Ful Medammas (Fava Beans), cooked

2-3 tbsp Olive oil

1 large onion, finely diced

2 large tomatoes, finely diced

1 tbsp Paprika

1 tbsp Cumin Powder

Handful of Parsley, finely chopped

2 garlic cloves, grated

Salt (to taste)

½ Lemon, squeezed

Steps to make Ful Medames-Healthy Fava Beans Breakfast Recipe

Step 1 : Drain and rinse the canned Fava beans under cold running water a few times.

Step 2 : In a skillet or a pan, add Olive oil and onions. Sauté until they turn soft and translucent.

Step 3 :
Add chopped tomatoes and sauté a little more until they turn mushy and soft. Now add the rinsed Fava Beans and gently pummel or pound down the beans to make a chunky paste using a tart tamper or the back of a wooden spoon.

Step 4 : Throw in Paprika, Cumin, garlic and salt along with chopped Parsley and Lemon juice.

Step 5: Cover the skillet and let it cook for a while until you see everything well combined. You can add a dash of water if you want to cook it longer. 

Step 6 : You will know it’s done when you have a thick paste like consistency and a rich flavor. 

Step 7 : Drizzle with olive oil and chopped parsley and serve hot.
